About Us

New Hope Elementary School is proud to be a place where students, staff and families come together to learn, grow and give back. During the 2023–2024 school year, New Hope Elementary not only exceeded growth goals in reading and math but also achieved the highest student proficiency among all Gaston County Schools. Our students shine both inside and outside the classroom, earning first place in the Math Masters competition and being named overall champions in robotics and project presentations.

We are also well known for our strong partnership with the American Heart Association. Over the past 11 years, our school has raised more than $112,000 through the Kids Heart Challenge including nearly $22,000 last year alone. Because of their hard work and generosity, our students are recognized as some of the top fundraisers in the country and take part in special activities with the American Heart Association.

At New Hope, students are encouraged to explore their interests through a variety of clubs and programs. Our popular STEM Club gives students the chance to explore science, technology, engineering and math through hands-on projects. Other favorite activities include Girls on the Run, Let Me Run, Safety Patrol and Student Council, all of which help students build leadership and teamwork skills.

Our dedicated staff is made up of mostly veteran educators who bring experience, passion and care to the classroom every day. Many of our teachers are National Board Certified, and this year, they are launching a cohort to help support others in earning this distinguished certification.

One of the most anticipated events each year is our Fall Carnival, which brings together students, families and community organizations. It’s a highlight of the season and a perfect example of the strong school spirit that makes New Hope Elementary such a special place to learn and grow.
